Tale of two ex-editors *

Take your pick: on Thursday, USC Annenberg fetes Michael Parks, the outgoing director of the Annenberg School of Journalism. He is the former editor of the Los Angeles Times. Later that evening, Coro is giving a lifetime achievement award to Ron Kaye, the recently ex'd editor of the Daily News. He's not a Coro alum, but they added him late to the program. Coro is also honoring Sheriff Lee Baca and Geena Davis that night.

Noted: Kaye was the featured guest tonight at Casey's Bar and Grill downtown for a drinks-and-talk session with SPJ and the Latino Journalists of California.

* Make it three: Current Times editor Russ Stanton also speaks Thursday night. Info.
