The kids are alright

Andre Ethier
Matt Kemp homered on the first pitch the Dodgers faced Sunday — his first ever as a leadoff hitter — and Andre Ethier clubbed a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Brewers. The Dodgers had blown a four-run lead in the top of the ninth, so the walk-off delivered a little more emotion than usual. The 7-5 win moved the Dodgers into a tie for first place. Ethier also homered earlier in the game, so he and Kemp now have 30 home runs, 56 doubles and 117 RBIs between them for the season. Manny Ramirez hit his sixth home run as a Dodger in the opening inning and is now 25-for-59 (.424) with 21 RBIs in 16 games for Los Angeles.

Any doubt who the Dodgers outfielders should be?

         HR - 2B - RBI - OPS
Manny   26 - 25 - 89 - 978
Kemp    15 - 30 - 63 - 829
Ethier   15 - 26 - 54 - 825
Pierre    0 -  9 - 25 - 644
Jones    3 -  8 - 14 - 514

Also Sunday: Coach Larry Bowa says of Kemp, "He's way ahead of schedule. Right now, he's at the point I thought he might be in two or three years, that's how much he has improved." Kurt Streeter column in LAT
