Dodgers sweep Cubs back to 1945

Dodgers winThis won't be the year the Cubs end their run of World Series non-appearances. The Dodgers scored two runs in the first and never looked back, winning 3-1 to sweep the series. In my row we were watching to see if Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa ran from the McCourts' box to celebrate with the team on the field, but thankfully he did not. (He was wearing a Dodgers jacket.) After the clubhouse champagne spraying, several Dodgers came back on the field to celebrate with fans. Russell Martin and Matt Kemp went into the left-field pavilion. The Dodgers will play either the Phillies or the Brewers for the National League pennant — the opponent determines when the next home games are played. Phil Wallace at SoCal Sports Observed
