Fire fatality on 118 Freeway *

Channel 4 says there is a report that someone died in a car fire on the freeway near DeSoto Avenue, a bit east of where the Sesnon fire has jumped the freeway. But it is unclear whether the car fire was attributable to the wildfire. Westbound traffic on the 118 is closed at Reseda Boulevard.

* Update: Channel 4 now reports it was a head-on crash between a westbound driver and someone who turned around on the freeway to get off. The crash occurred at Mason Avenue and killed the westbound driver, KNBC's pilot says.
