Yahoo has promoted Jimmy Pitaro to oversee what they call "North America Vertical Audience Experience," meaning he's in charge of News, Finance, Sports and a whole bunch more. That means more responsibility for Dave Morgan, who left the Los Angeles Times sports staff in 2006 to help guide Yahoo's coverage of sports out of Santa Monica, in part by hiring away ex-LAT colleagues. Morgan is now executive editor for Yahoo! Sports, Finance, Entertainment and more, "tasked with replicating the strong editorial team he created for Yahoo! Sports across Yahoo!’s various entities," says a company spokesperson.
