Bill Maher's talk at Sunday night's L.A. Press Club awards dinner. Here, by the way, is the list of winners, which included the Bloomberg News bureau's David Evans, who won print journalist of the year. "The financial meltdown was the top story of the year, and Mr. Evans was well ahead of the pack on a story that affected the lives of billions of people. His well-written, excellent stories presaged many of our country’s economic woes. When historians look back and ask why the press didn’t do a better job of revealing the world’s economic problems before the crash, they will have to make an exception for David Evans," said the judges.

After the jump: Arianna Huffington's remarks.
