Look who declined to help on L.A. fires *

The San Francisco Fire Department refused a state request to send a strike team south to join the thousands of firefighters — many from out of state — on the Station Fire. Instead, San Francisco sent a single truck. "If the city of Vallejo, which is in bankruptcy court, can send one engine down, San Francisco ought to be able to send five," said a union rep. "It just doesn't look very good." The SF Weekly has more.

4:20 p.m. update: Channel 7 just showed a superscooper dropping water on the north side of Mount Wilson.
