Jonathan Gold finally joins the LA Weekly

jgoldjj.jpgYes, all this time, LA Weekly food star Jonathan Gold has been a freelancer. Now he's on staff, the rest of the newsroom was told today. He'll continue writing his columns, but he'll also be contributing now to Squid Ink, the food blog edited by Amy Scattergood that has become one of the Weekly's strongest online features.

Also at Squid Ink: The great Bay Cities Deli closure scare is nothing to worry about, the Santa Monica food truck lot was closed down after one day due to being illegal, and former Times food staff stalwart Barbara Hansen is now covering ethnic eats for the blog (as well as her own.)
