Beverly Hills makes ready for a celebrity mayor

delshad-cruz.jpgIt's not quite the return of Will Rogers, but when Jimmy Delshad rotates into the office of mayor tomorrow he will become the country's highest-ranking Iranian-American public official. Again — he was mayor the first time in 2007. In case there's interest, the city of Beverly Hills has alerted the media to a 2 p.m. news conference at city hall, complete with parking arrangements for TV trucks. Delshad, currently the vice mayor, will be formally installed later in the evening at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Noted: The Beverly Hills Courier e-edition goes behind a pay wall on April 2.
