L.A. Marathon is Sunday, but you probably knew that

Marathon organizers are advising runners to get out early Sunday since getting to the Dodger Stadium start line could prove difficult: "ARRIVE EARLY! We suggest you be there by 5:30am.," says an official Los Angeles Marathon tweet. The Los Angeles Marathon website has been spotty all evening, often returning the undesired message: "Error establishing a database connection." Runners online are also reporting a lot of mistaken ages on their bibs.

With the new route across the map from the stadium to Santa Monica Pier, traffic is expected to be a bear all morning, especially around the finish line. Streets will be affected in four cities, bus routes and times will be adjusted and freeway ramps will be closed for a time. Here's a short animation of the route, pegged to some local landmarks.

Channel 5 will air the race live from 7 am to 10 a.m.
