Video discussion: the LAT's teacher stats


Just came across this piece with NBC 4 News Conference host Conan Nolan talking in some depth with Doug Smith, the data analysis editor who led the Los Angeles Times project on teacher effectiveness in LAUSD, and exploring the union's criticism of the project. The Times reports Saturday that the LAUSD administration has decided it now wants to evaluate teachers partly on their ability to raise student test scores, the factor that the paper's study examined.
