LAO on KCRW

LA Observed on KCRW: Lu Parker, activist

My column tonight on KCRW comments on the L.A. Times giving KTLA reporter Lu Parker a pass on probing questions about her animal activism. Last week's story in the Timesfocused on her being Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's girlfriend, about which I say there's only so much we should expect to know. But she apparently wasn't asked about her personal cause and where she draws the line, personally or professionally — in a city where animals are a big political issue. The column airs at 6:44 p.m. on KCRW 89.9 FM.) It can be downloaded at KCRW.com or on iTunes. Sorry, I don't have the text with me.
