Australia passed the United Kingdom and Japan to become the No. 1 feeder of overseas tourists to Los Angeles in 2010, LA Inc. says. (Not counting Mexico and Canada.) A strong Australian dollar brought more Aussies to the U.S., and LAX is the primary point of entry, said a Qantas Airways exec in the L.A. Times. Visits of all kinds were up in 2010, led by an 80% increase from China and 54% from South Korea, the report says.
