Earthquakes make a lot of noise

Never underestimate how loud an earthquake can be as it pummels your home. Or how disturbing the sounds of settling are after the initial shaking subsides. (Followed in Los Angeles by the sound of car horns.) This is from Christchurch in New Zealand.
