Dennis McCarthy picks winners for a book

dennis-mccarthy-book.jpgDaily News columnist Dennis McCarthy writes "when I arrived at the Daily News 30 years ago this month, I had dark hair, a flat stomach, and the stamina to chase stories all day and night. Five thousand plus columns later, what's left of the hair is white, I've got a pot belly, and need a nap after lunch." He turned to writing his columns about ordinary people with stories to tell after being fed up interviewing inmates on Death Row. Now he's got a book coming with 62 of his favorite columns, and as he explains, there isn't a Lindsay Lohan or a Charlie Sheen in the bunch.
