Photos before Staples Center and the new Convention Center

The LAFD Historical Society has posted some good aerial photos of the Convention Center being expanded circa 1991 — before Staples Center or L.A. Live came to the Downtown neighborhood. This view shows the original Convention Center building, the one that would be torn down for AEG's Farmers Field stadium, with construction underway on the new hall across Pico Boulevard to the south. That's the Harbor Freeway or 110. Hat tip: Curbed LA
