New editor in the Valley

The San Fernando Valley Business Journal has a new editor. Jaclyn Giovis takes over, effective with today's issue, from Jason Schaff, who's leaving after eight years, the paper says. Giovis was a business reporter at the South Florida Sun Sentinel and spent nearly four years working for Cox Newspapers in Ohio, including the Dayton Daily News and Hamilton JournalNews.

Also on the Valley beat: The story of ValSurf, which opened in 1962 at Whitsett Avenue and Riverside Drive, And the band She Wants Revenge has a new album basically dedicated to its Valley roots.
