Partying with the royals

william-kate-LAX.jpgWatching KCAL's coverage of the British consul-general's reception for William and Kate, Gov. Brown introduced the couple. Wife Anne Gust stood beside him. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Lu Parker waited with the royals for the introduction. Also spotted schmoozing in the backyard were Councilman Tom LaBonge, Chief Charlie Beck, Supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky and Mike Antonovich, David Beckham, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block and Los Angeles Times editor Russ Stanton. KCAL's reporter, Serene Branson, continually refers to Princess Catherine, as do several other TV news people, but this official site in Britain says her title is just Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Or Princess William, if you must.
