NWS calls 'excessive heat watch' for Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for the Los Angeles area from Saturday afternoon through the evening. Heat index values may remain above 105 degrees into early evening. From the city:

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity can combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. To provide the public with relief from the heat, City of Los Angeles facilities are utilized as cooling centers. A list of these facilities is available at emergency.lacity.org. Click on the banner that says Cooling Facilities to beat the heat.
