Frank-DeFord-book-jacket.jpgFrank Deford, the senior contributing writer at Sports Illustrated and weekly commentator for NPR’s “Morning Edition” — he recently read commentary number 1500 — will be in town this week to talk about his new memoir, "Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter." Live Talks Los Angeles has made some tickets available for friends of LA Observed to take part in Deford's conversation with broadcaster and former NBA player John Salley, the evening of Tuesday, June 12. The event will be at Track 16 at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.
