Journalists of the year are Larry Mantle of KPCC, Chuck Henry and Tara Wallis Firestone of NBC 4, Kim Masters and Alex Ben Block of the Hollywood Reporter, Chris Hedges from Truthdig, Francine Orr of the Los Angeles Times and Richard Clough of the LA Business Journal. Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame received the club's President's Award from actor and activist Martin Sheen. Bob Woodward didn't come, citing a reporting deadline, but took part via Skype.
