Here's the upside of sending LA crews to Rome

Many of the Los Angeles TV crews dispatched to Rome for coverage of the papal conclave have been tweeting and Facebooking tourist photos. Then there is Bryan Frank, the photographer for the CBS 2/KCAL 9 duopoly. His Flickr set (also on Facebook) includes some really nice behind-the-scenes images — as well as some food, coffee and street life shots that make me wish I was there. He narrates some of the images on Backspaces, and more of his photos from Los Angeles and around the world can always be found at the BeFrank blog.

Here's a sample from the Rome trip. The rest

Y'all might remember some previous BeFrank images of Sharon Tay reporting in the field, his walkabout in Hollywood, and the late assignment editor Chuck Hollis.
