Villaraigosa to be visiting fellow at Harvard

mavillaraigosa-dc-msnbc.jpgFormer Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has secured at least one university gig for the next phase of his political life. Harvard announced today that he will be a visiting fellow this coming year at Harvard's Institute of Politics. He won't be alone there: Hilda Solis, the former Labor Secretary for Obama who returned to Los Angeles to run for the Board of Supervisors next year, is also a new visiting fellow. The visiting fellows come in and spend some time with the resident fellows, who also were announced today. From the institute's website:

This short-term fellowship periodically brings distinguished veterans of public life to Harvard for a short stay. The program is designed to provide maximum contact with the University community, particularly undergraduate students. Each fellowship is individually tailored to the background of the Visiting Fellow. Visiting Fellows have a compacted schedule and will often conduct three or four events in a day. These events include roundtable discussions, study groups and occasionally a Forum event.

Recent Visiting Fellows include the former prime minister of Greece George Papandreou, former United States Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former prime minister of the United Kingdom Gordon Brown, and former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush.
