Dueling debates in supervisor race

Thumbnail image for warren-olney-2007-marc-goldstein.jpgTwo of LA's main journalist organizations are each sponsoring a debate in the 3rd district race for county supervisor. That's the race where former state legislator Sheila Kuehl, former Santa Monica mayor Bobby Shriver, West Hollywood councilman John Duran and former Malibu mayor Pamela Conley Ulich are running to succeed Zev Yaroslavsky.

Tonight at UCLA's California NanoSystems Institute auditorium, the Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is presenting the candidates in a joint event with KCRW. Warren Olney will moderate. SPJ will live-stream the debate on the web.

A week later on March 27, the Los Angeles Press Club is teaming up with NBC Los Angeles for a debate at the club's headquarters on Hollywood Boulevard. Press Club officers Robert Kovacik and Patt Morrison will ask the questions. That one too will be live streamed.
