Tougher times might be around the corner, but you wouldn't know it based on the L.A. job numbers that were released this morning. July unemployment in Los Angeles County slipped to 4.5 percent from 4.6 percent in June and 5.0 percent in July 2005. But the news wasn't all positive: employment for the month fell by 41,200 jobs. Most of drop was due to the end of the school year, with a loss of 26,100 jobs. The entertainment industry posted a payroll drop of 4,800.Statewide, the July unemployment rate was 4.8 percent in July, down from 4.9 percent the previous month.

Here are some July unemployment rates for selected cities in L.A. County. These numbers are not seasonally adjusted, so be careful about comparing them with the county figures.

Inglewood - 6.3%

Manahattan Beach - 1.6%
Pasadena - 4.1%
Santa Clarita - 2.9%
Torrance -2.4%
