Maguire to build downtown high-rise

He's planning a 50-story office tower overlooking the Harbor Freeway, according to the Downtown News, which will be posting the story on its Web site tonight. It would be the first downtown high-rise in 14 years and comes at a time when the office space throughout Socal has gotten very tight - the result of little or no new construction. The building would be west of the 777 Tower in the Financial District. Maguire Properties owns six downtown trophy buildings, including the Gas Company Tower, KPMG Tower, U.S. Bank Tower and One California Plaza.
