What on earth would anyone do with a $1.4 million Bugatti Veyron, with a 1001-horsepower engine and a top speed of 250 miles per hour? Er, don't answer that question. The Bugatti is on display at this week's L.A. Auto Show, but the WSJ reports that the general public isn't really welcome. A glass fence keeps onlookers from getting close.

A lot of the people who could potentially buy this car live near Los Angeles," Bugatti President Thomas Bscher said in an interview. A handful of potential "clients" were scheduled to come by to see the car during the show. "This is a sales event for us," Mr. Bscher said.
