Market on a winning streak

The Dow finished in positive territory for the eighth consecutive trading session. The last time that happened was four years ago, although when that streak ended, the Dow lost 300 points in one day. But hey... The all-time record, by the way, is 14 consecutive up sessions. Today's gain didn't amount to much - 4.71 points, to close at 12,573.85. Very little action to note among local stocks - even Amgen, which was the subject of a sour WSJ page 1 story, finished down just a touch. Much of the information in the story had been out, so maybe the ho-hum reaction was not that surprising. Bloomberg
