The eight-session winning steak is over. The Dow was down all day, not helped by the minutes of the latest Federal Reserve policy meeting that showed continuing concern about inflation (wait until they factor in $3.50 a gallon for gas). There also was a forecast about slumping home sales. It really didn't take much. All told, the DJIA closed at 12,484.62, down 89 points on the day. The record of 14 consecutive winning sessions remains intact.
