The governor needs two Republicans in each house to support his budget package, which includes asking voters to extend temporary sales, income and vehicle tax hikes for another five years. *Update: Five Republican senators say they've reached an impasse in trying to work out a compromise with Gov. Jerry Brown. They said that their proposals for a spending cap and for pension, tax and regulatory reforms were either rejected or greatly watered down. (Capitol Alert)
