New California population numbers from Census Bureau

Here are the biggest cities and their percentage growth since the 2000 Census:

--Los Angeles 3,792,621 +2.6%
--San Diego 1,307,402 +6.9%
--San Jose 945,942 +5.7%
--San Francisco 805,235 +3.7%
--Fresno 494,665 +15.7%

Largest counties:
--Los Angeles 9,818,605 +3.1%
--San Diego 3,095,313 +10%
--Orange 3,010,232 +5.8%
--Riverside 2,189,641 +41.7%
--San Bernardino 2,035,210 +19.1%

Here's the Census press release. Here's the state's Department of Finance census page. These and other numbers will be used in the redistricting process.
