Do positive Yelp reviews result in higher revenue?

Apparently so, according to a new paper. An extra one-star rating leads to a 5 percent to 9 percent increase in revenues at independent restaurants, says researcher Michael Luca. Chains weren't affected all that much, presumably because you don't need Yelp to know what an IHOP is all about. Luca used data from Seattle restaurants. (h/t Adam Ozimek)
