Aftermath of police action on Occupy L.A.

City workers have moved into what had been the Occupy L.A. encampment, clearing out trash and preparing to install a perimeter fence around City Hall Park. Meanwhile, a few dozen gathered at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church near Olvera Street following last night's police action. The protesters are planning a press conference this morning on the steps of City Hall (location subject to change). The subject, according to a news release, is "highlighting victories of Occupy LA and announcing plans to expand the movement beyond City Hall." Key point is that both sides - police and protesters - seemed to have been determined to make this action non-violent, and that's what happened. Here are early morning updates from the LAT and KPCC's Frank Stoltz (via NPR). Kevin was live-blogging last night.
