*Protesters block Westwood and Wilshire; cops make arrests

About a dozen people were blocking the intersection to protest income inequality and high tuition costs. A number of supporters cheered on the group from sidewalks lining Wilshire Boulevard. I saw a bunch of folks head south on Westwood just as police were breaking things up. Several of those arrested were believed to be UCLA students. Traffic, always a mess in that area, was a bit messier. (CBS Los Angeles)

*Update: Hundreds of protesters took over a downtown Bank of America branch during the evening rush hour, AP is reporting.

Several are holding banners reading "Jobs Not Cuts," ''United for Change" and "We are the 99 percent." A large contingent of police officers is on the scene, but so far it is peaceful and there have been no arrests. Protesters say banks should pay their fair share to stop state cuts that affect senior citizens, students and families.
