The mountains above Los Angeles are crisply clear on the last day of 2013. The photo is from the UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy cam on the 150-foot solar observatory tower at the Mount Wilson Observatory, at elevation 5,700 feet, grabbed at 2:47 p.m.
