Good Simers lede

Every so often Times sports columnist T.J. Simers comes up with a memorable line. His opener today makes it for me:

Sometimes you worry you're going to run out of things to write about, and then a Boston parking lot attendant buys the Dodgers.

The rest of the column is typical Simers schtick. He makes clear he'll be insulting Frank McCourt like he does most everybody else in local sports. McCourt's retort: "Come on, T.J., you're killing me."

A separate story in LAT Sports today lauds Shav Glick, the paper's 83-year-old auto racing writer. He's been covering the sport since 1969 and will be inducted soon into its hall of fame.
