Hahn reins in his appointees

Responding to a growing sense of a corruption scandal, Mayor Hahn yesterday banned his commissioners from getting involved in interviews of city contractors they would later vote on. Hard to see how that will work in practice, but it's something. The council had been set to vote on just such a ban today. Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski called the mayor's executive order a "nice first start." Stories in the Times, Daily News and Daily Breeze.
