Weiss looks east

It always used to be humbling, and a mite embarrassing, at the LAT when California groups wishing to make a statement would buy full-page ads in the New York Times. I was reminded of that yesterday when West Side city councilman Jack Weiss had an op-ed in the Times pleading for federal money to help L.A. pay for terrorism alerts -- the New York Times.
