Bernie gets invited

City councilman and former police chief Bernard Parks is said to be close to announcing if he will be a candidate for mayor against Jim Hahn next year (officially, Parks is only mulling it so far). In the meantime, he's making appearances a long ways from his South Los Angeles 8th district. Most recently, Army Archerd's Variety column names the prominent attendees at Beverly Hills' Greystone mansion for the renewal of wedding vows by Kirk and Anne Douglas, and listed with the Marvin Davises, Sidney Sheldons, Karl Maldens and Nancy Reagan (there with Merv Griffin) were the Bernard Parkses. The Richard Riordans also attended, incidentally, though conspicuously not the Michael Douglas-Catherine Zeta-Joneses.
