Mayoral candidate Richard Alarcón, the state senator and former councilman from the Valley, unveiled his campaign website Tuesday. Yes, for better or worse, he has an AlaBlog. The Daily News and Times [and the Daily Breeze] have stories on the festivities, which included some slams at Hahn. Maybe he'll surprise, but I expect Alarcón's role in the outcome of the race will be to take a few Valley votes from Hertzberg and Hahn, a few Latino votes from Villaraigosa and Hertzberg, maybe some labor votes from Hahn and Villaraigosa — and to finish well out of the runoff. If he stays in that long. He backed Villaraigosa last time.
