Leaving Rocky *

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's staff has not been a model of stability. In August, his office confirmed that Delgadillo's communications director, Eric Moses, was moving into a new role. The Times connected the shift to the office's active investigation of possible wrongdoing by PR firm Fleishman-Hillard. Moses, like several other City Hall players (including the mayor's press secretary, Shannon Murphy), used to work for Fleishman. Now there's word around that Moses' replacement, Matt Szabo, may be leaving Delgadillo to work on the Bob Hertzberg campaign for mayor. Specifically, the gossip is he starts Monday. (An email to Szabo's City Hall address was re-routed to Frank Mateljan, another Delgadillo aide, who hasn't responded). The press deputy job for Delgadillo also once belonged to Ana Garcia, now an investigative reporter at Channel 4—and who has, incidentally, done some strong pieces on Fleishman-Hillard.

Also: BoifromTroy reports that Alex Ponder has been promoted to chief of staff for lame-duck councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski. As we noted earlier, Lisa Gritzner moved to Cerrell and Associates.

* Updates: Szabo confirms via email that he will be the Hertzberg campaign's communications director. He gets right into the spirit: "I first met Bob during the boroughs debate, as he and Wendy Greuel worked closely in attempt to merge their proposals (I was Wendy's legislative director at the time). I've never seen anyone with so much pure energy and passion for improving the city - and with absolutely no fear or hesitation to challenge the status quo." Also, Eric Moses is leaving Delgadillo's staff to become a vice president in the corporate group at Hill & Knowlton public relations, starting Sept. 27. And Marie Condron, a senior project manager in Mayor Hahn's office and a leader in the downtown loft community, is moving to the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce as director of marketing and communications.
