Villaraigosa targeted *

Five residents of Antonio Villaraigosa's 14th district say they will try to recall the councilman for jumping into the mayor's race after pledging he would not run. "We believe Mr. Villaraigosa must be held accountable for reneging on his promise to serve a full four-year term," Eliseo Villanueva says in the Times. These kinds of things usually come and go pretty quickly, so we'll wait and see whether this develops or fades quietly away.
