Journos doing stuff

• Pete Demetriou of KFWB has joined the L.A. "crime tour" being staged on Saturday by the Society of Professional Journalists. He'll describe some crime scenes he has covered in 27 years on local radio. Sandi Gibbons of the DA's press office will discuss the Robert Kennedy assassination during a stop at the Ambassador Hotel. • Victor Merina, senior fellow with USC Annenberg's Institute for Justice and Journalism, will give the Regent's Lecture Friday evening at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. His topic: The Message of the Media, the Power of the Personal.

• Sandra Tsing Loh recovers from the election in her spot on KPCC's Talk of the City, Thursday at 2 p.m. The authors of The Dodgers: 120 Years of Dodger History were on today. Audio.

• Kevin F. Sherry cleans out his closet, becomes an Internet sensation.

• Eric Lynxwiler, technically an "urban anthroplogist" rather than a journalist, speaks on Art and Americana, a Fascination with Neon Signs, at the Getty Center on Nov. 16. He is a former board member of the Museum of Neon Art in downtown Los Angeles, a docent for the Los Angeles Conservancy, and did a big chunk of the research for my upcoming book on Wilshire Boulevard.
