More signups at City Hall

Prospective candidates in the March 8, 2005 primary election took out papers for a second day on Tuesday. There will be stories written, but no real news. It's just a formality at this point. In addition to Mayor Jim Hahn, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo and City Controller Laura Chick are seeking reelection, along with incumbents in all the odd-numbered city council districts except for Cindy Miscikowski, who is termed out. (Three school board and three college board seats are also up.) Would-be candidates have until Saturday to file their declarations of intent to run, then must return nominating petitions and pay any fees by Dec. 8. That's when the first cut of pretenders happens; until then, we won't really know who's running. Here's the latest list (PDF file) of who has taken out papers, at the city clerk's website.
