Moore rolls the dice

Second-tier mayoral candidate Walter Moore is so determined to play with the big boys that he is loaning his campaign $100,000. The attorney told the Daily News he hopes the big infusion of cash will signal he is serious and should be included in debates and other campaign events with Mayor Hahn and his four experienced challengers.

"I am not some fringe candidate," Moore said. "I am a Republican who wants to talk about the real issues in the city."

Under campaign finance rules, Moore's gambit means that the $1,000 limit on individual donations will be temporarily relaxed for the other candidates. They will be able now to go back to contributors who already gave the maximum and ask for as much as $7,000, until Moore's hundred grand is matched.
