Mayor raises legal defense fund

It shows up in Jim Hahn's latest campaign disclosure filings with the city Ethics Commission. The fund took in donations of $11,000 before the end of the year and spent $18,500 on legal help from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. LAT, DN.

Also: The Riverside Press Enterprise did a piece last week on the Inland Empire city of Rancho Cucamonga hiring a public relations firm to polish its image. The piece quotes a VP of Hill and Knowlton, the firm that got the job. It's Eric Moses, who in a previous life worked for Fleishman-Hillard on its contracts with Los Angeles. There's a rumor that Steve Getzug, who lost his spot at Fleishman in the house cleaning a couple of weeks back, is joining Moses.
