Today's Times sort of covers the candidate's East Coast fundraising swing, which stopped in New York, Washington and South Florida. No details are reported of Tuesday's private New York breakfast and lunch. That evening Villaraigosa was in Washington for a reception that included Sen. Barbara Boxer. Rep. Maxine Waters attended a breakfast the next morning, but the story doesn't say who was giving the money at either D.C. event (or how much.) Staff writer John-Thor Dahlburg picked up the trail in Florida, where Villaraigosa was said to have collected more than $100,000 at three events in the heavily Republican Cuban communities. Tirso del Junco, a former state GOP chair in California, attended. Even before this visit, Florida was Villaraigosa's largest fundraising state outside California, the story says.
