Abrams charged with felonies

Westside developer Mark Abrams has a date in court this afternoon to be arraigned on two felony counts and ten misdemeanors alleging he laundered $21,000 in excess campaign contributions to Mayor Jim Hahn, councilman Tony Cardenas and ex-councilman Nick Pacheco. Abrams already has been fined $270,000 by the city Ethics Commission, over his role in helping raise $300,000 for Hahn, the Times says. Today's charges were filed by District Attorney Steve Cooley.
