So much for Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley having reputations as the nation's safest cities. A violent Indiana man began killing yesterday in T.O. and shot himself today in a Simi Valley Wal-Mart. A Ventura County sheriff's deputy wounded this morning is in stable condition, but a 48-year-old woman attacked in front of her two children died this afternoon at a hospital. Two others died Monday. My link is to the Ventura County Star, where get this: the bureau chief for Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley began his new job just today. Mike Comeaux, who is married to Star columnist Colleen Cason, had been the editor on Daily News coverage of Los Angeles politics and Valley secession until recently. Registration is required at the VC Star.
