New deputy mayor

No surprise, but word out of City Hall is that Larry Frank, staff director at the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education and a certified Friend of Antonio from way back, gets his parking pass next week. His portfolio is said to include neighborhood councils. Frank graduated from UCLA Law, has the United Farm Workers and other union jobs in his past, and volunteers for the National Lawyers Guild. One of the UCLA bios floating around says he is currently working on "a regional power analysis of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor."
